Brian's World - Chapters 8Brian looked around, he was in a dark place, in the distance he could see someone hunched in the distance crying. He walked over and as he did so, the world grew around him, until he discovered he was in a crowded area, in the middle he saw that the crying person was cradling someone in his arms. “Hello!” Z80 said cheerfully. “Whuut?” Brian replied still half asleep. “Today’s the day we take back the dark crystal!” “OK….How do we do that exactly?” “Well, I know it’s onboard the Vortex, I could sense it there. So we’re going to raid that ship!”
Brian sat down, “Woah.” Space 1 was already en route to meet the Vortonian fleet; unfortunately the fleet was tracking them and was preparing a surprise of their own.
Vortex stood upon the bridge of his flag ship holding a wooden cane, upon which was mounted the black crystal.

Another benefit of this newly enlarged Space 1 was a room in which Brian could eat and rest, and that’s where he spent the next few hours, while he digested everything that had just happened to him. A few days ago he was a boy without a care in the world, now he was a space explorer who had had a narrow escape from some complex space battle over some strange crystals. Under the circumstances he did the only thing he could, he went to sleep.
Several hours later, he was woken by the computer and wearily returned to the command deck, on the screen was the stunning sight of thousands of asteroids.
